A WEEKEND TASTE OF HAVANA, QUICK GET-AWAY FROM BALTIMORE


Starting in October, 2015, a quick cultural insight tour into Havana city: the most complete architectural compound achieved by Spanish Colonial Rule in Latin America

DAY 1 Wednesday


Arrival at Havana International Airport from BWI. Met and assisted by your cultural tour guide. Transfer on Air-conditioned, private bus to Havana Hotel 4 stars. Check-in at hotel. Briefing by your guide.

7:00 p.m. Evening Welcome Dinner at La Guarida Paladar, setting of famed and largely

DAY 2 Thursday
Breakfast in the Hotel

9:00 a.m. Walking tour of the oldest part of the city, known as Old Havana, a UNESCO world heritage site. This will include a history and architecture journey through this city’s four main colonial squares.



  • Visit Hemingway’s room at Ambos Mundos hotel

  • Visit La Maqueta de la Havana, a scale model of old Havana section

Lunch at EI Templete restaurant, right by Havana harbor.

  • Transfer by bus to see Revolution Square (a brief stopover), Colon’s cemetery, the Vedado quarters, including the National Hotel to get a glimpse at Havana’s mafia days (cocktails at the Hall of Fame), Miramar and the former Country Club area.

Dinner at Paladar La Cocina de Liliam (where ex-president Jimmy Carter ate upon his Havana visit)


Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included as well as museums entrance fees.
DAY 3 Friday
Breakfast at the Hotel

Explore on foot Central Park and Prado Promenade area to get to know the city at the turn of the 20th century. A later visit to the Museum of Fine Arts will give you an insight into the origin and evolution of Cuban Art.

Lunch at Sevilla Hotel Rooftop Restaurant, a former American and Cuban Mafia venue.
Today’s history lessons will be complemented by a visit to the Revolution Museum. Transfer by bus to Art Galleries, meeting Local Artists and visiting their studios. Transfer back to the hotel.

Dinner restaurant El Aljibe where the best Cuban cuisine is offered.

Not included in your tour cost

Travelers at their own expense will meet in Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI), MD. at an appointed time and place to begin the trip to Cuba

• Gratuities for Cuban tour guide, bus driver, chambermaids, restaurant staff, porters, etc. Please see gratuities guidelines.

• There is a Cuban departure tax of $ 25.00 dollars at BWI airport in cash and a two dollar per each extra pound of your luggage.  Please be sure to have this amount available to pay the departure tax before boarding to Cuba and extra weight. This payment is not included in the package.



• Optional travel interruption and cancellation insurance. Your tour cost already includes an excellent Cuban medical policy.


SAFETY FIRST

  • Please be advised that American Travelers can travel to Cuba with organizations licensed by the U.S. Department of Treasury, Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) like Cuba Life Travels, LLC.  Please see the Federal Register.

  • Travelers should seek medical advice for the appropriate immunizations before departure

  • Cuba is a Caribbean country so the weather is always warm.  The best times to travel are all the year around. Pack summer clothes, comfortable footwear, personal hygiene items, first aid medication kit and travel documents.

  • Cuba’s only mobile phone operator is Cubacel. It provides renting SIM cards to travelers to use their mobile phones, thus providing them with a local number while they are in Cuba. Using international services and/or phone cards in Hotels is better. Cohiba hotel has Wi Fi service.

  • Food and beverages are national; so it is good to bring your own snacks and hot spices.
