"1745-1880 History of Indiana County, Penn'a." J. A. Caldwell, Newark, Ohio. 1880, Page 533 has the following passage:
" Murders on Pike,-- A man named Campbell was killed by a sheriff's possee who went to remove him from the house. He fired on the men and the fire was returned, killing him. The house was near present residence of Rev. Dr. Hill. John Grant was killed by Henry Palmer in a drunken fight about political matters. Daniel Smith was stabbed by William Brown in a drunken quarrel. These last two occurred at or near an old tavern on the pike, on Lintner farm."
There is no indication of whether it was Henry Sr. or Henry Jr. or some other Henry Palmer. There is no indication that there was any retribution, or punishment. This could be why Henry Palmer Jr. left Indiana County and moved to a remote spot in Jefferson County.
