Dayton, Ohio – The U.S. Navy F-18 Super Hornet Demonstration at this year’s Vectren Dayton Air Show Presented by Kroger is going to be special for more reasons than one. First, the Super Hornet is the Navy’s premier Strike Fighter, and seeing it in action is always impressive. But this year, the pilot putting on the demonstration happens to be a West Chester, OH native as well as the first female Navy pilot to fly a single-ship demonstration at the Vectren Dayton Air Show.
Lt. Page “P.I.E.” Felini, is a 1995 graduate of Lakota High School and a 1999 graduate of the University of Virginia. “Pie” will put her Super Hornet through its paces and then participate in an historic Legacy Flight with the F4U Corsair.  Hosted by GE Aviation, the U.S. Navy East Coast F-18 Super Hornet Tactical Demonstration Team will come to Dayton from Strike Fighter Squadron 106, “The Gladiators,” based at Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia.
Felini is but one of at least fourteen pilots or crew members with local ties who will be participating in the 2008 Vectren Dayton Air Show. The show takes to the skies July 19th and 20th at the Dayton International Airport. Other local connections include:
